There’s been a last-minute change to the Teen Talk Radio schedule. As you know, Robin Jones Gunn was originally scheduled to join me this Thursday evening, but she’s now unable to make it. I’m thrilled to be able to announce that Melody Carlson will be my guest instead (WOW! right?), and Robin Jones Gunn will be joining me on November 18th.
But if I know my readers/listeners, I know that Melody Carlson is an exciting guest! You all love her and her books. How do I know? Because one of the top questions I get asked at events is if I know her personally.
Well, after Thursday night, you can know her personally, too! Join us as we chat about her heart for teens. We’ll talk about her books, her inspiration, and her upcoming projects.
A recent project is the On the Runway series. The first book in that series is pictured here, but there are four available now.
A recipe for success or a design for disaster? Although they’re sisters, Paige and Erin Forrester are like oil and water, night and day, denim and silk. Paige is an outgoing fashionista who loves to be the center of attention, while Erin is more comfortable sporting vintage garb and recording the action around her. When a near disaster turns into the opportunity of a lifetime, these two very-different sisters are given the chance to star in their own fashion-TV show. A guest spot on a hot teen-reality series and their first big red-carpet assignment give this unlikely partnership plenty of room for success-and even more for failure.
The Secret Series is another project Melody has been working on.
Struggling 17-year-old high school senior Adele has a secret . . . she’s homeless. Adele enjoys being with the “nice kids” in the church youth group, but she has more in common with the young people who live on the streets. Which group of friends will she choose? And what’s God’s role in her life?
Book one, pictured here, is available now. Book two in The Secrets Series, Shattered, will release in 2011. We’ll talk about all of that, plus her popular True Colors series, too.
Be sure to tune in on Thursday at 10PM EST at www.choicesradio.com. As always, you can get the show via podcast after it airs at that same link or on iTunes. If you have a question for Melody Carlson, you can call the show at 866-464-4869 or leave a comment here.
Thanks for tuning in and supporting Teen Talk Radio!

[...] Author Melody Carlson knows teens are experimenting with the occult, not from a survey or study, but from teens telling her their stories. The best-selling young-adult novelist receives emails from thousands of teens who tell her things they don’t tell their parents. Carlson writes about the issues teens are really facing, including a growing interest in the occult, a topic she explored in Moon White and The Secret Life of Samantha McGregor. [...]
