On Hope: Where’s My Happily Ever After?

2151610276 6b89ae2f23 On Hope: Where’s My Happily Ever After?Once upon a time…isn’t that how the story is supposed to begin?

Not for her, she is far from the princess, fairy-tale type, you couldn’t imagine what her world is like or the pain she has suffered through – does this she sound a lot like you?

Does she put her guard up and keep her head down? Is she hiding behind a pretense of ordinariness? Has she been hurt beyond repair? Did she build a wall around her heart to protect herself from being hurt again?

For some of us life had a violent beginning and some had more of a meager beginning. We all come from different walks of life, some walks are easier than others. However, our beginning doesn’t have to dictate our end.

We have no control over the circumstances we are born into, but the choices we make throughout our lives will definitely determine our happily ever after.

Since we don’t live in an imaginary world, the story that is our life probably won’t even be close to that of a fairy tale. Unfortunately, for some of us, it is the complete opposite which would be more like an unfair tale.

With a fairy tale, it has a happy beginning, a small and short-lived issue, and finally an even happier ending. However, with an unfair tale the bulk of the story revolves around tragedy and the happy portions are few and far between, if any at all.

Although my life seems to be one tragedy after another at times because I choose Christ to be my personal Prince Charming (Savior) my unfair tale will be transformed into a fairy tale too beautiful for words.

He alone can guarantee your happy ever after. The guard comes down, the head is held high, and fictitious ordinary miraculously becomes legitimized extraordinary. The hurt begins to heal and the wall protecting the heart starts to fall. Talk about being swept off your feet!

You can have a happy ever after in Christ no matter what life has been like for you. Will you allow him to rewrite your unfair tale into a story far beyond your imagination? Yes?

Let’s pray…

God we come before you with wounded hearts in dire need of healing. We want you to become the author of our faith and write the story of our life. Only you can guarantee our happy ever after and because you alone have this power we place our life into your hands. Please help us to trust in You. Although life has hurt us terribly at times it pales in comparison to that which you have planned for your people. With all our hearts we love you. With every breath we praise you. In Jesus’ name. Amen.
