Family Minute

Wil...
Has been writing some music and playing more lately. I love being in the house and hearing the sounds of music in progress coming from upstairs.
Want a little sample? Just for laughs, here's a funny video of cruise-ship, Elton-John Karaoke. My brother is the bald dude. Wil sings second.

Erik...
Is still doing his Tech school thing. I'm starting to get nervous because I know survival training is coming...and I know what it entails. Mama-bear doesn't like the thought of what her boy's going to endure. I can't wait until that part is over!

Natalie & Emily...
Ok, here's a story! Last night Natalie and I made a midnight run to take the garbage to the curb and got locked out. Wil was out at work and Emily was up in her room asleep. What to do?

We pelted Em's window with rocks, but she didn't seem to notice. So I got the two-story ladder off the garage wall and leaned it up against the house. Nat climbed up and pounded on Em's window for at least fifteen minutes. She STILL didn't wake up.

Finally, the curtain parted in the family room and Emily's face peeked out. Turns out, she'd thought the rocks and the pounding was a storm and had moved to the couch long before.
She let me and Natalie in the house and we collapsed on the couch, windblown and tired.

The real kicker? Ten minutes later, Natalie realized that the side door that leads in to the family room had been unlocked the entire time.

Logan...
Is getting presents for being cute! I've had three people give me stuff this week because they said they thought he was the cutest little boy they'd ever seen and just wanted him to have it. A coat, a horse, and a book.

Love it! Work it, baby!

Megan...
Asked me if she could have her hair like rapunzel. Well, of course I said she could and assumed she'd give up before it reached 110 feet long.

A bit later I walked into the kitchen to find Megan hacking at her hair with a pair of scissors, most of her hair already on the floor around her.

She'd meant Rapunzel at the END of Tangled when all of her hair is gone.

Ryleigh...
has decided she's a mermaid named Rae-Lynn. (Actually it's mermain, according to Ryleigh.)

But this mermain thing isn't just imagination. She actually slides around the house and slinks up and down from furniture with both legs in one leg of her pants. She even sleeps like that most nights.
